Well, this has been a very interesting couple of weeks. After years of very reliable computer performance, I experienced that dreaded computer crash. Usually a re-boot and some fiddling around would resuscitate it, but not this time. This time, I had to get a friend who's in the business go through my machine from the bottom up. The good news is that he was able to install a new hard drive AND recover all of my data files. The bad news of course is that I had to reinstall all of my programs. And for those of you who have had to go through that, you know how tedious that can be. Not only do you have to go through a pile of disks, but you also have to go through folders of executable files if you bought programs over the internet and downloaded them. And then of course it's all the restoring of preferences, plug-ins, etc...hurts just thinking about it.
So, this post's picture and title is apropos for what my world has been like. I'm back to near-full functionality. You back up all your files regularly, right? right? Once a year or once every month may not be enough. I would ask that you consider your current "process" and see if it needs any tweaking.
Ok, the picture...it was taken at Joshua Tree National Park at Keys Ranch. There were so many interesting things to photograph at Joshua Tree. You can see more of my images on my gallery: http://costamesaphotography.com/
Glad to be back on line!!
